Travel Essentials Women Will Love
I’m always on the lookout for sturdy, stylish, and essential travel items at a good price. Amazon is a great resource if you’re looking to shop for road trip necessities and travelers’ must-haves. These travel essentials for women are some of my favorite products. I love them because they make traveling easier, they look chic, and they save me time.
I made this travel essentials list specific to women, but you’ll find many of the travel items cross over to the men in your life.
Anti-Theft Travel Purse
Top of my list of must-haves for women is an anti-heft travel purse. Whenever I travel I like to have a sturdy bag that doesn’t attract attention. These bags have a ton of compartments for all your must-have items. Sure they’re no Louis Vuitton, but they also won’t attract the attention of thieves. Their strong construction makes them impervious to getting slashed open. Their zipper pockets also clasp shut making it difficult for thieves to reach in and grab your worldly possessions. I’ve had my Travelon bag for 8 years and it’s been with me to 6 continents and always kept my belongings safe, making it one of the best travel essentials money can buy.
Travel Toothbrush
No travel necessities list would be complete without a travel toothbrush. As the saying goes, death creeps in through the gums. I love this Phillips One Travel Toothbrush by Sonicare. It’s a hundred times better than your regular old toothbrush and it comes at a downright affordable price. It even comes with a cute little case. The toothbrush maintains its charge for a ridiculously long time as well. I had mine for over a year before having to charge it! Take your pick from an assortment of chic colors and keep your smile bright.
Travel Jewelry Organizer
Maybe a jewelry organizer isn’t part of your essentials when traveling, but if you like to take a few baubles with you when traveling, this small jewelry box will keep your necklaces and earrings from jumbling into a tangled mess. If you’re taking some bling on your trip I highly recommend one of these useful travel accessories.
Luggage and Suitcase Options
When it comes to traveling essentials it doesn’t get more essential than luggage. I’ve owned a lot of luggage in my life, thanks in no small part to airlines losing or destroying my bags, but I digress. Below are some of my favorite and most highly-rated bags. Don’t leave home without them. From checked luggage to chic carry-on bags, you find all your travel bag essentials below.
Portable Charger
I cannot travel anywhere without a power bank for my phone. A portable charger should be part of everyone’s travel necessities. If you depend on your phone, these little, stylish travel accessories are an absolute must-have for travelers. Keep snapping those great vacation photographs, texting your no-doubt jealous friends back home, and navigating your new surroundings by keeping your battery charged.
Noise Cancelling Headphones
When it comes to must-have travel items, few things get more use than my noise-canceling headphones. Tune out crying babies, annoying passengers, loud music, and other sounds with a top-notch pair of noise-canceling headphones. I’ve had my Bose Quiet Comfort headphones for three years and I can’t leave home without them. I’ve also tried and loved the Apple Airpods Max, though they are on the pricier side. Still, I cannot stress what a game-changer it is to have a great pair of noise-cancelling headphones. Make one of these incredibly well-reviewed headphones part of your carry-on packing list.
Travel Backpacks
A good travel backpack is a must. I adore my TUMI Voyager Ruby bag and always carry it as my personal item when I fly. I received it as a gift last Christmas and instantly fell in love with its sleek style and sturdy construction. But I recognize it is a luxury item and may not be in everyone’s budget. Heck, it certainly wasn’t in mine, which is why I was super grateful to receive it as a gift. But it really is one of the best luxury travel accessories money can buy. I
f you need a sturdy, lightweight travel bag, I recommend the Light Flight Backpack. The Light Flight is still chic as hell and it’s affordable.

Travel Pillow
Having a chronic pain condition makes flying a wildly uncomfortable part of life. But I can make it tolerable with a great travel pillow. These travel must-haves come in a variety of styles, but my two favorites are an adjustable memory foam pillow you can use to support any part of your body and a heated, massaging neck pillow. If there was some way to magically combine the two I might just lose my mind, overcome with joy. For those of you who always get chilly on planes, I’ve also included a blanket and pillow combo that clips easily to any backpack.
Packing Cubes
Because I’m obsessively organized, packing cubes are part of my travel essentials kit. If you thrive on organization as I do, I know they’ll be part of your traveling necessities as well. Keep your bag from becoming an utter mess of balled-up pants and underwear with these packing cube sets. And if you like to pack everything in your closet, consider some compression cubes like the Bagail set below.
Luggage Tag
Bag tags are essentials for traveling. These little travel basics help you identify your bag, mark medical equipment, and if you get a nice bright color they’ll help you spot your bag from a mile away at bag claim.
Eye Mask
While not exactly travel must-haves, these unique travel accessories have helped me catch some much-needed shut-eye while on the road. They’ve helped me block out the 4 am sunlight when traveling to northern China and blocked out the sounds coming from the next room over when I was cursed with a hotel room with paper-thin walls. They take up very little space and have quickly become part of my vacation must-haves.
Water Bottles
A reusable water bottle is key to staying hydrated on a long trip. I like a good collapsable water bottle and always include one as part of my international travel necessities. This bottle packs down to an itty bitty size that slips easily in your purse or backpack.
Makeup Remover Wipes
These individually wrapped makeup wipes are a big part of my women’s travel essentials list. I love a good makeup remover wipe but hate the way traditional packs dry out because they don’t reseal well after each use. Add to that getting jostled around in your bag and it’s easy for a pack of wipes to become a useless stack of paper towels. Not so with these Neutrogena wipes. Give them a try and find out why they should become one of your must-haves when traveling.
Beach Vacation Necessities
These beach trip necessities will keep you from getting burned, protect your phone, and help keep sand out of your bum. Three very important travel must-haves when visiting the beach.
First Aid Kit
If you’re prone to injury like I am or you’re traveling with someone who is, you’ll need a first aid kit for that next outdoor adventure. This first aid kit is one of the cheapest and best travel necessities on my list and can literally save you the headache of being caught without acetaminophen.
Toiletry Kits
I love a good toiletry kit. As someone with a chronic illness who depends on a plethora of medications to get through the day, I use one of my toiletry bags just for prescriptions and vitamins. Another carries my shampoo, soap, and other essentials for a trip. These cute bags help keep all your necessities for traveling neat and organized while adding a nice pop of color or cute pattern.
Items For Your Toiletry Bag
Hand sanitizer, Dramamine, travel-size hair products, toothpaste, and other must-have items, this is my toiletries list for the ladies. One of my absolute favorites in this section is Body Glide for her, an anti-chafe product that has quickly become one of my travel must-haves for women who like myself, have thick thighs. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.
Travel Packing List
If you have trouble remembering all the things you need to pack, this little list will help. What’s more meta than having a literal travel essentials list for women on your traveling essentials for women list?
Comfortable Walking Shoes
Cobblestone, hiking trails, just navigating those impossibly huge Las Vegas casinos, it all requires a great, comfortable pair of walking shoes. As a TV writer who has been busy pounding the pavement on strike for the last 2 months, I’ve had the opportunity to try a lot of shoes. The brand I love the most is Hoka.
I’ve also recommended a pair of easy-to-carry ballet flats for those of you who insist on wearing heels. These will offer your feet a welcome bit of respite when you need it the most.
Travel Adapters
These are essentials for international travel. I’ve recommended two of the best on Amazon. Each also comes with several USB ports which will keep all your travel accessories charged and ready to go. I personally travel with the Epica and it’s all I need to keep my phone, camera, and iPad charged. Plus, it comes in rose gold, my favorite color.
Travel Umbrella
Chief amongst my many travel tips is to plan for any type of weather and don’t count on the hotel to have a loner umbrella for you. This tiny compact umbrella can keep you dry when the weather isn’t on your side. I slip mine into the side pocket of my backpack so it’s always at the ready.
Glasses/Contact Lens Case
As someone who wears contact lenses, I love this 2 in one contact lens and glasses case. I’m a big proponent of space saving all-in-one travel accessories. This cute Muf 2 in 1 case comes in a variety of colors.
Hat Clip
I take a lot of beach vacations and love a good hat, but I never know how to pack it. Not wanting to travel with a separate 1940’s hat box, I opt for this tint hat clip. For under $10 you have a brilliant space-saving solution.
Passport Holder
A passport is the lifeblood to travel. Which makes protecting it super important. I love this little leather passport cover which comes in a variety of fun colors. It even comes in a variety of not-so-fun colors for those of you who like neutrals.
Traveling Essentials For Women
I hope you’ve found some awesome products for your next trip. As mentioned before these are all products I’ve tried and loved and/or are very well reviewed items I’ve been lusting after on Amazon. From carry on essentials for women to luggage sets, this list has everything but travel insurance.
